Strange Encounters Story Number One – “Kelly’s Visitor”

When you think of the classic phrase "things that go bump in the night", you might imagine a child hearing monsters in the closet or under the bed. Are those footsteps you're hearing coming up the stairs toward you or could it just be the old wooden staircase “settling in?” The questions are numerous when it comes to those mysterious sounds many have reported, albeit without full justification as to what they are. But what if there were no sounds? Instead while sleeping; suddenly you open your eyes only to find a motionless figure at the foot of your bed, and not just one time but multiple times. This is what has happened to Kelly, a single woman in her 40’s living in New York City. Kelly doesn’t know what to make of this repetitious scenario, but what she does know is that these regular nightly visits are real to her. This is her story.

Kelly – I would say my earliest recollection of it happening was when I first lived on my own in Brooklyn in the mid 90’s, and even prior to that when I was little, I remember being a very light sleeper and just feeling like there was a presence in the room. But specifically when I lived in Brooklyn, I would be in bed and would be asleep. I have very vivid dreams and I feel like I would dream constantly. I feel like I dream an awful lot. What happens is I will be in bed and typically this happens anywhere between 2-5am. I do feel like I’ve been dreaming and maybe that’s the reason why I am startled awake.

Whatever’s going on in my dream, it seems to kind of traverse into real life. Something will startle me and it’s either in my dream that I sense this presence and I open my eyes with a start. I’ll sit up and often times I will make a sound like “uh!” A very startled sound. I see an image in my room. It’s usually in the corner of the room or at the foot of the bed or right outside my door. It’s just a form. I don’t see any eyes I don’t see hair or any facial features - just an outline. They’re not menacing, or threatening or aggressive, they’re just there.

Alexis – Are they moving?

Kelly – No. They’re just standing there; like they’ve been observing me.

Alexis – You’ve never seen any movement of any kind. Does it look like a snapshot or still shot of anyone?

Kelly – I feel like they’re a presence; a living breathing presence. There’s definitely substance to them. It’s three dimensional. Recently though, I had an experience where I was very afraid because I thought that someone was going to attack me, but I think this might have been something in my dream.

Alexis - This is an important point – You said something really interesting. You said that you’re a vivid dreamer and that somehow there’s a link or bridge between the dream and when you open your eyes and actually see this image. Does that happen consistently? Does the dream always precede the presence in the room?

Kelly – I can’t tell. I don’t know for sure. Sometimes I feel like I’ve been sleeping pretty soundly and all of a sudden I’m jolted out of bed and I sit upright. And I’m very afraid. I usually turn on my light and look out my door and I look up and down the hall to see if there’s anything there.

Alexis – So you do get out of bed?

Kelly – Yes. And I say to myself “Are you insane? What if there is someone there?” But I can’t stay in the bed, I have to go and check it out. But of course there’s nothing. There’s never been anything.

Alexis – When you’re in the bed and your eyes open, have you ever felt a sense of paralysis or that you can’t move, are there any other sensations?

Kelly – No, but in my dreams I feel that sometimes. I feel like I’m on the verge of being awake. Like a lucid dreaming state. I realize I’m in a dream and I’m in danger but I can’t move. I say to myself, “You’re in a dream, but you have to wake up, you have to wake up!” But when I experience this being or presence in my room and I get up, I can move and I do move and I always get up to check out what’s happening.

Alexis – So as you’re getting up, is the being still there?

Kelly – No

Alexis – So the being is only there when you’re in bed. The moment you make a move to get up, the being is gone?

Kelly – Yes. When I’m sitting up, I don’t know if my eyes are open right away or what, but right after I open my eyes I see it, but then it goes right away.

Alexis – Have you seen it literally dematerialize or is there a gap and you look away and then back and then it’s gone?

Kelly – It’s hard to tell. I can’t really explain that.

Alexis – Do you sense that the being is male or female?

Kelly – Male. Always male.

Alexis – Are you always alone when this happens or has anyone ever been in the house with you?

Kelly – I remember one time, my brother had been visiting and while he was there I remember sitting up and screaming. But I asked him the next morning if he heard me and he said no. I don’t remember if there was an image there.

Alexis – And how often does this happen, on average?

Kelly – Maybe two times a month.

Alexis – But this has been pretty consistent for years?

Kelly – Yes, pretty consistent.

Alexis – Let me ask you this: what do you think this is?

Kelly – This is not a threatening thing. When I open my eyes and see this presence, it’s never been coming at me or anything. I like to think that it is someone who is just watching over me. Except for a couple of times, when it was a menacing thing, I felt like they were just watching over me. You know, I’ve lived on my own a lot. Maybe this presence has been protecting me. I’ve been on my own in NYC since 1989. For all intent and purposes the past 23 or 24 years. Maybe it’s a guardian.

Alexis – I find it interesting that there’s this definite link for you between the dreamscape and the waking state. If you look at the dreamscape like we might a landscape, you might call it another level of reality that we truly participate in. Many people that work in this field and have had these experiences say that our dream life is another reality; just as real as what we call this 3D reality. And sometimes a bridge can form between that reality (the dream) and this one (the waking state). I’ve heard cases of people who have had overtly menacing dreams. Some have even been attacked in the dreamscape where they’ve been scratched. When they wake up they will find scratches on parts of their body. There have been many reported cases like that.

It seems like you are participating in another reality and this entity that you’re encountering may be following you from the dream into the 3D…that’s the bridge.

Kelly – Sometimes I do feel like it’s a dream that has literally pulled me up. But other times something wakes me up and it’s the presence, and I open my eyes and I see this person. So it’s not always the dream. Now when I mentioned a couple weeks ago when I felt there was a menacing presence in the room, that I’m pretty sure was a dream, and there was something at the foot of my bed, ready to ‘get’ me.

Alexis – Did it look the same?

Kelly – No, this one was fuller, meaning it had a full head of hair (strange, I know). But I couldn’t see the features. It was a silhouette.

Kelly has been plagued by these experiences for years. Although she admits that the regular visitor she encounters does not seem threatening, on occasion her experiences have shifted to one of greater alarm and concern. Either way, Kelly seems to be experiencing a phenomenon that she simply cannot fully explain and these encounters don’t seem to be relenting.

We were very interested in hearing Kelly’s story. Will we ever learn the truth of these strange encounters? Are these and many others we’ve heard before the results of an over-active imagination, or perhaps the remnants of some unresolved trauma deep seeded within the human psyche? Or are we getting a glimpse of the multidimensional reality that many say we are always immersed within?

As philosopher Richard Feynman once said, “…it does no harm to the mystery to know a little about it!”

Meditation - Gateway to Alternate Realities?

We’ve heard it said before: There are many paths but only one destination. And of course there are numerous adaptations of this phrase. But what if there are indeed multiple destinations or more aptly realities, and what if we could use meditation as a gateway to explore the uncharted terrain of multidimensionality?

As a practitioner of meditation, I have on occasion asked myself this very question. Indeed my journeys within have yielded a sense at times that I am piercing the veil of the third dimensional realm and entering a far more fluid “space” not familiar to my work-a-day senses. I’ve witnessed what seemed to be floating thought forms, black and white holes and unfamiliar moving images viewed from a myriad of perspectives through my alternate eyes. Without question, these are occasions by which I would deem meditation far more than just a relaxation tool! I’ve called these excursions; something way out of the realm of expectation and as a result, I have sought to understand via other’s anecdotal accounts if their experiences might in some small way hint of my own, and moreover bring realization about the multidimensional reality for which we may just be inextricably linked.

Here is a story I found to be intriguing and revealing as to the plasticity of reality and our ability to transcend the third dimensional world via meditation…

“This happened about three years ago. I was studying Reiki and advanced energy medicine at the time. My instructor had told me to meditate on my upper chakras, so I was meditating on the eighth. My eyes were shut, I was in a comfortable position holding my 8th chakra, and I was well-grounded - or so I thought. Suddenly, everything got very quiet and then a rushing sound filled my ears. My eyes were closed but I could actually see my skin pinging off into air like popcorn popping around without the lid on. It was as if my eyes were wide open because everything was absolutely crystal clear. Then my sight started to darken. I was able to ask my husband if I was still sitting on the couch, and he said that I was. After my skin stopped flying about in mid-air, I re-materialized in a room where a large group of men were seated in a circle. It reminded me of the Roman Senate, for they were all dressed in togas and had close-cropped beards. I was standing in the middle of this circle, staring down at a large beautiful crystal (my 8th chakra). I remember one man kept asking, ‘What does the crystal say? Look at the crystal and tell us what it says!’ The crystal was the last thing I wanted to look at. Then I found myself back in my own living room on the couch, still holding my 8th chakra. My body was intact, and my husband was still playing chess. I told him what happened and he said, ‘You're crazy.’ Nothing like this has happened since. I'm not sure if I crossed through a portal, entered an alternate reality, or experienced a past life.” (source: www.kajama.com)

In this startling account, we find the meditator seemingly catapulted from a state of conscious 3D awareness into what appeared to her as another place and possibly another time. There are many accounts where others have reported being transported – literally dropped into another reality; a place where not only is the individual simply witnessing the scene playing out before them, but they are participating in it! These sorts of stories have often been told within the context of teleportation and time travel, and yet in this case, the individual found just by merely falling into a meditative state, whilst focusing on her upper chakras, in this case her 8th, her consciousness apparently swept through the veil and into another reality!

Consciousness and Non-Locality

The notion that consciousness is non-local; the ability to transcend space and time outside of the physical sensory system is an idea that has been supported by metaphysicians and mystics and examined closely within the quantum theoretical framework. When in a meditative state, depending on the level of depth the meditator is able to achieve, one’s focus can instantaneously shift from an object grounded within the physical spectrum to one that is on another level or frequency and thus the individual will “transport” their consciousness to finer and finer vibratory realms.

In a talk given by meditation expert and author, Andrew Cohen he states, “A meditative posture releases you from the world stream. It releases you from being trapped in the Universe; of being trapped in time.”

The practice of meditation, in some cases will give one a glimpse of the illusory nature of time and space, thereby making acceptance of alternate realities easier and thus the direct experience of these realms far more likely.

Meditation as Gateway to the Out of Body Experience (OBE)

For many practitioners of meditation, the feeling that one’s consciousness is leaving the physical form, described as an out of the body experience or OBE is well known in spiritual literature. Alternate states of consciousness have been reported while out of body, ranging from a subtle sense of detachment, merely inches away from where the physical body rests to excursions many miles (even light years) away where again, the experiencer will witness and even participate in a scenario on another plane of existence.

It is interesting to note that meditation can most certainly serve as impetus to activating an OBE. There are of course common denominators in the out of body experience and meditative practice itself; the key element being relaxation and extrication from awareness of one’s physical surroundings. It seems that by simply and unconditionally shifting focus from one state to the next can launch ones consciousness outside of the physical spectrum and into a broader and less dense state of reality.

In his book Psychic Breakthroughs Today, the late parapsychology researcher, D. Scott Rogo discusses the inherent limitations one has in his ability to experience the broader spectrum of reality while focused in the 3D realm: “We can only ‘see’ part of the visible spectrum between infra-red and ultraviolet and our sense of hearing is rather primitive. It is certainly much weaker than the auditory perception of many animals. Not only are our sense perceptions limited, but what we see and hear may not actually be very objective at all, but colored by our own thoughts and expectations….(but) would it be possible to transcend our reliance on our sense perceptions and actually disregard the body completely? Some people have had that exact experience.”

Rogo goes on to describe a variety of scenarios by which this can occur via the out of body state and the range of conditions that might induce such a state, not the least of which is meditation.

I think it would be fair to say that OBE’s via meditative practice is indeed a form of alternate reality, whereby the individual has shifted from what Rogo calls “limited sense perception” into a less dense and broader spectrum of awareness.

There are indeed many paths, it seems to experience alternate realities (the destination) and meditation is but one of them. In our next post we will bring you some exciting information about the out of body experience as a way to glimpse these alternate realities from one of the leading experts in OBE research and practice, William Buhlman. Our discussion continues!

Geophysical Phenomena and The Thinning Veil

Leo Deis, a 76 year old man from Regina, Canada nearly had his paradigm shattered when he witnessed firsthand, a broom in his family home stand on its own. The bristled broomstick, suspended with no aid whatsoever remained in an upright position on their tiled floor for a significant amount of time. Deis was not the only one in his family to witness this apparent feat of non-corporeal wizardry. Inquisitive, he decided to take a paintbrush to the floor to see if it would obey these new “laws of physics” he had recently discovered. To his amazement, the brush followed suit and remained suspended as well with no support at all.

Apparently the phenomenon of unsupported brooms has been sweeping across the planet and reported by store owners, housewives and news media alike. So, quite honestly, what is going on?

Deis was quick to point out his interest and previous study of physics and chemistry, and reasoned that this anomalous act might be an epiphenomenon from the recent high solar activity that has been taking place.

It is certainly difficult to ignore the fact that a variety of strange and unusual phenomena have been occurring in recent years, although some date these increased effects back to the 1800’s.

The Geophysical Factor

Is there indeed some correlation between these phenomena and erratic geophysical activity (GPA)?

When I recently spoke with author and paranormal researcher Rosemary Ellen Guiley to get her take on whether GPA might account for an increase in reported paranormal activity, here’s what she had to say…

“Many people have speculated that activity in the earth’s magnetic field has bearing on this and I do believe that to be the case. We have cycles and solar activity where increased solar flares activate the magnetosphere and paranormal investigations indicate that spirit communications and even the manifestations of entities seem to be sensitive to fluctuations in the magnetic energy. There are places on the earth for example that have dramatic negative magnetic anomalies and these almost always are associated with intense hot zones and paranormal activity on an ongoing basis.”

Although science is quick to point out that there is no hard evidence to support these claims, they do admit that the sun’s magnetic field is “flipping” and that solar maximum is here.

In an article posted on the NASA Science News web site in 2001, scientists state, “The sun's magnetic poles will remain as they are now, with the north magnetic pole pointing through the Sun's southern hemisphere, until the year 2012 when they will reverse again. This transition happens, as far as we know, at the peak of every 11-year sunspot cycle -- like clockwork.”

However, there seem to be additional significant elements that combined with the sun’s erratic behavior are making for an anomalous intersection of activity; the effects of which we haven’t seen for perhaps thousands of years.

It is well documented that the earth’s magnetic field is weakening, a feature that gradually but inevitably precedes a full-on pole shift. Many scientists agree that pole reversal has occurred many times over the millennia, and yet most are loathed to admit that we will experience a total pole shift in our lifetime. Others disagree. Researcher and author Gregg Braden is among those doing work in this field who believes that we are in the midst of a shift on many levels. In his landmark book Awakening to Zero Point, he describes something he calls the Shift of the Ages; a time in earth’s history and in human consciousness when a “convergence of decreasing planetary magnetic and increasing planetary frequency upon a point in time” takes place. “The shift represents a rare opportunity of collectively repatterning the expression of human consciousness.”

This repatterning may very well be resulting in changes to the human sensory system, and experienced both physiologically and psychologically.

Many are reporting, irregular patterns of sleep, often waking during the hours between 2am-4am. Additionally, there have been many who I have personally spoken to who have insisted that they have been awakened by either a non-physical being of some sort (some have called them “shadow-like” beings) or even balls of light floating around the room, of which the experiencer senses some form of intelligence. Of course there have been many variations to these reports.

Others are reporting extremely vivid, sometimes precognitive dreams. Telepathy seems to be on the increase. The act of manifesting based on thought alone is not a new concept, although we are hearing many more cases of instant manifestation in our daily lives.

Lynne McTaggart points out in her book, The Intention Experiment how geomagnetic fluctuations in earth’s atmosphere can have a significant impact on the consciousness of an individual. Especially during periods of moderate to high solar activity, the act of sending conscious intention seems to be far more effective. Interestingly though, when solar activity is low, thereby resulting in quiet to no geomagnetic “storminess,” the faculty known as psi whereby the individual is more tuned to receiving information is greater.

My surmise is that both sending and receiving of psychic information has reached a crescendo due perhaps, in part to the heightened geophysical phenomena we are experiencing on a regular basis.

Our psychic faculties and the interpenetration of our awareness into these realms are but one, albeit important, feature of this “new energy” we are experiencing. Braden points out however, “…it is the awareness of humankind, and not the life essence itself, that is used to interpret the three dimensional world…It is this awareness that is locked up within the fields of magnetics surrounding our planet. Through the structure provided as fields of magnetics the net of our awareness matrix is stabilized and secured in place.”

However, now with the steady decrease of magnetic shielding, the persistent increase of earth frequency along with the fury of solar activity, a potpourri of possibilities are being hurled our way.

What does one do with all of this?

I’ve no doubt that the complexities of just what is going on here, leaving hints as they may, are more than most can get their heads around – science included! But as is often noted, nature leaves clues if one is attuned to its subtle information.

If we can just imagine that earth has a consciousness and a body, and “heartbeat” just as we do, we can also reason that resonance between these two bodies (of man and earth) is a natural phenomenon. When the predominant energy changes, the other must follow in like manner – this is the physical law of resonance.

When the earth’s “protective shield” weakens or diminishes, we might liken that to our own protective shield or barrier or veil weakening as well; that of conscious perception. When the veil thins we, just as the earth, have access to all the other information “out there.” This flow pours in like a monsoon, but if one is not ready or is unprepared, this evolution will mask itself and be interpreted as tumult, discord and confusion, thus a misunderstanding of the significance of this convergence of energies.

When one consciously recognizes and tunes one's self to the increased frequency of earth's vibration, the veils of perception, polarity and dissonance begin to blur and the recognition of being one with an unbroken whole starts to emerge. Though beginning individually, a collective awakening starts to take shape.

Braden says, “It is no longer necessary to go into the sacred chambers of ancient structures designed to provide the appropriate environment for this Shift; we are living The Shift within our offices, schools, living rooms as day-to-day life.”

So as we ponder the broom anomaly or stretch to make sense of our own fantastical and non-ordinary experiences, let us remind ourselves that we are living during a most unprecedented and magical time; a time that brings forth an opportunity to truly merge with the Shift of the Ages. Let us embrace the magic, attune to its frequency and reap the unlimited benefits of an infinite spectrum of experience.

Eliminating Grief through Conscious Dying – A One on One Interview with Dr. Bruce Goldberg

“There is no death - there is only a change in dimensions,” and according to Dr. Bruce Goldberg a clinical hypnotherapist well known for his work in the field of past life regression, astral travel and other alternative modalities, we can consciously interact with that realm.

I sat down with Dr. Goldberg last month at his Woodland Hills, California offices to have a discussion about using controlled out of body experiences (OBE’s) as a means to contact our loved ones in spirit which may greatly mitigate the emotion of grief.

What then ensued was a crash dis-course on a process he calls “conscious dying,” whereby an individual can deeply relieve their own personal burden of bereavement, and also assist their loved one in spirit to ascend beyond what he refers to as the lower astral realms. The term conscious dying, at first blush seemed irrelevant to my objective in this interview as I had been familiar with the term in my research to mean teaching the dying how to do so in a conscious and lucid manner. However, I found his approach quite intriguing. Essentially he explained that although conscious dying is used to teach a proactive transition for those who are terminal, this modality could be used effectively in other ways.

Although still a provocative and highly speculative subject in many scientific circles, the general idea of an afterlife, and furthermore interacting with the beyond, has increased in interest and become a growing field of inquiry, both academically and to the lay public, respectively. Goldberg says however that there are still very few in his field of hypnotherapy, teaching techniques that show people how to proactively go into realms beyond the third dimension.

In Goldberg’s book Exploring the Fifth Dimension and during our nearly two hour exchange, he discusses Atlanta cardiologist Michael Sabom’s detailed inquiry into the validity and mystery of the near death experience. Sabom’s research has been well documented, most notably with his 1994 “Atlanta Study.” Although his findings have yielded a wealth of curious phenomena suggesting an actual experience outside of the five sense framework, he still maintains that the NDE experience although “hints at the afterlife,” still may not be a direct experience of it.

Goldberg’s understanding draws a direct association to NDE, OBE and afterlife experiences. In fact, his surmise is that the astral realms, mainly lower, represent the fundamental underpinnings of the afterlife for many; that is until they can ascend into finer vibrational realms. And we can help them in this process through conscious out of body experiences and his conscious dying techniques.

Conscious Dying and the Upper Planes

“There are techniques highlighted in the book where loved ones can help the patient to have a conscious dying experience, but let’s say there is someone who has already died, they have already crossed into spirit and let’s say you didn’t have the opportunity to work with them while they were here, you can still send out the energy to them. What you are doing is training them on the other side to connect with their higher self. This is called ‘after death meditation.’”

Goldberg says that often at the point of physical death the individual, due to preconceived notions, belief systems, etc. neglects to acknowledge that a merging of sorts between what he calls the “soul energy” and the “higher self” need to take place. This coalescing of energies allows the dying individual to avoid the lower astral realms, a place he describes as one where many third dimensional-like aspects still exist, although not as dense as the earth plan, but with all the trappings of earth like activity. The temptation to stay there and relive many of the habitual patterns (including the negative ones) can overcome the soul and ascension can be thwarted for possibly thousands of earth years.

Rather than merging, a bifurcation of energies takes place and then karma is created where one will reincarnate back onto the earth plane and be destined to repeat many of the life lessons, often with great, but unnecessary suffering in a cyclical pattern.

I asked Dr. Goldberg about how a conscious dying technique would work for someone who died suddenly. How could they trigger this process?

He says that one can achieve a conscious dying state no matter what the cause of death, even a car accident for instance. State of mind during one’s life; spiritual practices like meditation, an open mind, free of any set belief system will help one with the conscious dying process, even if they initially end up on the lower astral planes. When they see the white light they will recognize it based on their practices and mind set while incarnated. “This is a freeing mechanism. It is recognition,” he says.

But beyond first person practice of conscious dying techniques, Goldberg definitively draws a correlation between conscious dying and Conscious OBE’s or COBE’s.

He explains that there are three kinds of OBE’s. First is the near death experience (NDE) where an individual is declared clinically dead and as a result is taken out of body and the consciousness is thrust into a vivid other-worldly experience. Then there is the typical OBE that can occur often spontaneously, where one will literally feel their consciousness leave their body, often viewing it from another perspective and through their “astral eyes.” And then there is something called COBE’s, a practice that can be used in conjunction with the conscious dying techniques that can yield a precious and often therapeutic unification with our deceased loved ones.

Pets in the Afterlife

In our discussion he gave several examples of patients he had worked with using the COBE and conscious dying techniques. One was a woman who was desperately grief stricken over the loss of a beloved pet, to the extent where she fell into a clinical depression. Going through a series of steps, Goldberg guided the woman to an altered state using in part something he calls an “In the body experience” or IBE wherein you can perceive and experience the astral realm while still being consciously grounded in physical form. Whilst in the experience the woman became overwhelmed with joy as tears streamed down her face. She declared she saw her beloved dog and felt renewed by knowing that he still existed in this realm. Additionally, the act of “going” to visit with her pet in this dimension resulted in her diminished grief and thus acted as a catalyst for the pet to ascend. In a strange but revealing twist, sometime later the woman who had been shopping at a mall, returned to her locked car to find a small German Sheppard puppy in the passenger’s seat. There was no note and certainly no explanation as to how the dog got there. Perplexed, she nonetheless took the dog home and ultimately decided to keep him. Once settled in, she noticed the dog beginning to take on the very attributes of her deceased pet; embodying many of the personality traits and command responses of her former companion. Goldberg maintains that using these techniques can even facilitate a union in the form of reincarnation of the loved one – yes, even with a pet!

He highlighted another example of a woman who had participated in one of his workshops in Canada some years ago, on conscious dying and OBE’s. The woman had been forlorn at the loss of her mother who had died several months previous and the grief had nearly incapacitated her. She feared nothing would help her. After going through an exercise during the workshop, the participants had the opportunity to share their experiences while in a group led exercise facilitated by Dr. Goldberg. The woman, eager to share her story exclaimed as tears flowed how she saw her mother during the process that Goldberg had been guiding the group through. A breakthrough had taken place. Six months later the woman returned to a follow up workshop Goldberg was giving, again enthusiastically proclaiming that she had been healed of her bereavement and had found a new found fervor to her life since that initial experience.

There appears to be some alchemical component to this unique process that Dr. Goldberg has used to successfully convert grief into, in many cases, out right joy and renewal. Although he says, he is not the one doing the healing of the patient. “I’m 1% and they’re 99% of the therapy.” They are clearly doing the work and as a result, a true healing from loss takes place. He also makes a strong point of saying that these practices are indigenous to many ancient cultures. “They are shamanic techniques that have been around for thousands of years. I’ve just ‘westernized’ them to make them more accessible.”

It is also worth noting here that Goldberg stresses the consequences of sustained bereavement as an impediment to our loved one’s ascension. He says, “When you bereave for someone you are actually hurting them. Your sadness sends out a negative energy.” That coupled with their possible sense of confusion if indeed they reside on the lower astral levels can make for a toxic concoction and no one will ultimately benefit from this mix of ingredients. Rather, if your loved one needs assistance in order to ascend into their true state, you can become an integral partner in that process and as a result, you free the loved one from possible entrapment in the lower realms and you free yourself of feeling trapped in grief.

Although Dr. Goldberg believes that people wanting to learn these techniques, including COBE’s, for the purposes of diminishing grief may be increasing slightly, there are still very few who are aware that this approach is available to them because it is not widely practiced and offered as a therapeutic modality.

As we forge toward a new model of life and reality; one that requires a new paradigm of thought and action, let us consider these approaches to understanding the process of life and the afterlife. And in so doing, we not only renew our trust in the continuation of life for our loved ones but tap into the “intimations of immortality” for ourselves.
